How to Enable Section Scoring Within the Survey Designer

Introduction

Within the survey designer, it is possible to enable scoring and assign scores to questions. In this article you will be shown how to enable section scoring. You must have the Survey Designer role assigned in order to do this.

How to Implement

Within the admin portal, navigate to “Surveys”, then “Templates”.

Locate the survey you would like to implement scoring in. For this demonstration, I will be using the “Fire Safety KA: Scoring” survey template. Click the “Edit” button on the row of your chosen survey.

You will now be presented with all of the survey questions and configuration options for each. Scoring now must be enabled. To do this, click the red “Template Properties” button at the top of the screen, and click the “Enable Scoring” tickbox.

Save your changes to the template properties by scrolling to the bottom of the popup and clicking “Save Changes”.

How to Add Scores to Questions

Score values can now be added to questions such as button pickers and number entries. To do this, click the grey pencil to the right of the question.

This will now show the configuration options for the question. To enable scoring on the question, click the “Behaviour” tab, and click the “Enable Scoring” tickbox.

Now you need to add values to your question button options. To do this, go to the “Options” tab, and change the numbers within the “Values” column of the button options.

Save your changes with the button in the bottom right of the screen, and now the edited questions will have values assigned to them for scoring.
