Introduction
This guide is intended to show new users to the Survey Designer role how to create audit templates and transfer them from web to device.
Tutorial
Creating Your Survey/Audit Template
To begin, within the admin portal, navigate to “Surveys” → “Templates”.
In the next screen you’ll see all of your current survey templates on your system. To start creating a new audit template, click “+Add New” in the top right corner.
A new row will appear for your new audit template, where you can fill out the template name, description and survey type. Once you’re happy with your changes, click the “Save” button in the top right corner.
Click “Edit” in the left column to enter the audit and start constructing it.
You’ll then be taken through to the survey editing page where you can start dragging and dropping different question types onto the right board. To remove/delete any questions you can drag them to the “Drop here to delete” box.
If you’d like to save some question sections/configurations for later you can also drag and drop them into the “Custom Templates” section which is under the standard templates section once you scroll down.
There are certain question types which can have special outputs onto the standard report. This can customise the look of your audit even more when presenting to your client. For more information on this, please visit the following article: Insight: Different Answer Output Types on the Standard IN02-1 Report
Underneath the Template Properties button in the top right, you’ll need to assign your audit to the standard IN02-1 report; this is the universal report which can run all of your question types.
Publishing an Audit
Once you’re happy with your template, you will need to publish it for you/your users to be able to start creating surveys. You can publish them by hovering your mouse over the red tick box in the “Actions” column on the template listing page, which when hovered over will read “Publish”.
Assigning Templates to a New Home Item
Home items are the buttons which appear within the Mobiess app which, when selected, take you through to an audit. If your system is configured with home items, and you have created an entirely new audit template, then you will need to create a new home item for this audit. To do this, navigate to “Home Items” under “Templates” then click “+Add” in the top right corner.
This will create a new row within your home items listing for the new home item. The following columns will need to be amended:
Icon- select the icon which will appear on the home item.
Title- main title/black text printed out underneath the home item.
Help Text- grey text which prints out underneath the title.
Survey Template- this selects the audit that the home item is linked to. You should select your newly created audit template here.
Enabled- set this to true, otherwise the home item will not appear on your device.
Once you’ve finished creating your home item, don’t forget to click “Save”.
Assigning Templates to an Existing Home Item
To assign a different audit to an existing home item, simply click the template currently assigned to the home item in the “Survey Template” column, select the new template and then Save.
Editing a Template
Once your template is published you cannot edit it directly; you must first clone the existing template then edit the copy instead.
To clone an audit, click the grey clone icon within the “Actions” column.
You are then able to go in, edit the cloned template, and re-publish the updated survey. Please note that, if these templates are assigned to a home item, you will need to re-assign the updated template to it.
